We’re upgrading to Windows 11 to give you a more modern, secure, and user-friendly experience. Here are the key changes you’ll notice:

  • Fresh Look: The Start button and taskbar are now centered, and everything has a cleaner, more modern design.

  • Easier Multitasking: You can quickly snap windows into different layouts, making it easier to work on multiple things at once.

  • Better Search: Finding files, apps, or settings is faster and more intuitive.

  • Built-In Microsoft Teams: Teams is now built into the taskbar for quicker access to calls and messages.

  • Smoother Updates: Updates now happen more quietly in the background, with less disruption to your work.

  • More Secure: Behind the scenes, Windows 11 has stronger built-in security to help keep your device and data safer.

The Basics

  • Start menu is in the middle now. You can move it back to the left if you want.

  • Looks different – things are more rounded and cleaner.

  • No more Live Tiles (those little moving boxes are gone).

  • File Explorer has new icons but works the same.

Using Stuff

  • Click the Windows logo in the middle to open your apps.

  • Right-click menus look simpler – click "Show more options" if you can’t find something.

  • Settings menu is new but everything’s still there (Wi-Fi, sound, display, etc.).

New Features

  • Snap Layouts – hover over the square in the top-right corner of a window to neatly split your screen.

  • Widgets – click the weather icon to see news, weather, calendar.

  • Teams Chat – there's a chat icon on the taskbar. Ignore it if you don’t use it.

What’s Gone

  • Internet Explorer is gone – use Edge, Chrome, or Firefox.

  • You can’t move the taskbar to the top or side anymore.

  • Some old features (like Live Tiles and Timeline) are removed.

Good to Know

  • Your files and apps stay the same after the upgrade.

  • Windows 11 is faster and more secure (especially for newer PCs).
